Notice which one wins. It is the one with no box, no claims and no ingredient list, because there are no ingredients, there is just the food. That is the whole trick to reading a grocery app: the more a product argues for itself on the front, the more it usually needs to.
Grocery apps put the panel on the product page, below the photo and the marketing copy, which is exactly where nobody scrolls. It is worth the scroll on anything that arrives in a box. On anything that arrives in a peel, it is not.

Fermenting is bacteria eating sugar. Heating the jar afterward makes it shelf stable and kills the bacteria, so what is left is sour cabbage. Sour cabbage is fine. It is just not the reason you bought it.
The refrigerated section is the first filter, because live cultures need cold. Then look for the words raw, live cultures, unpasteurized or naturally fermented. If the label leads with vinegar, the sourness was poured in rather than grown, and there is nothing alive in there.
Most traditional fermented foods are preserved in salt. Sauerkraut, kimchi, miso and brined pickles all carry real sodium, and that matters here more than it would for most people. The answer is not to skip them. It is to treat them as a condiment, a couple of forkfuls beside the meal, rather than a side dish. Kefir, plain yogurt and tempeh are the fermented foods that come without the salt problem, which is why they carry more of the weeks on the list.
A nutrition panel has about fifteen lines on it. For type 2 diabetes, four of them do almost all the work, and they are not the four the front of the box talks about.
The one that moves blood sugar. Not sugar, not calories. Total carbohydrate, because starch becomes sugar on the way down. Check the serving size in the same breath, because a small number attached to a small serving is a large number in a bowl.
One frittata is 5g. Four of them, which is a breakfast, is 20g.
The part of the carbohydrate that does not get digested, so it does not spike anything and it slows down everything around it. Subtract it from total carbohydrate and you have the number that actually lands. More is better with no ceiling worth worrying about.

High blood pressure travels with type 2 diabetes so reliably that the two are usually managed together. Breakfast meat is where sodium hides in plain sight, because salt is the preservative and the flavor at once.

Delivery apps are built to help you buy the same thing you bought last time. That is the convenience and it is also the problem.
